COMINFO REFORM UNDERWAY
Since the days of the United Socialist States of Eldham, one issue has remained consistent: activity in the Information Commission/Commissariat. In recent weeks, the Commissariat of Information has seen a drop in activity - an issue it's faced together with pretty much every other Commissariat except the Commissariat of Culture.
The blame cannot be put on either the government or Commissar Xemon Ronango'O, who has been in office for a short amount of time. Instead, the ComInfo's inactivity issue has been ongoing for months. However, this has become an opportunity that the young Commissar has chosen to use to launch his long-planned reforms to the Commissariat.
Working alongside his Assistant Commissar Valerie Aurelia Venkesel-Ronango'O, his first cousin once removed, Xemon has begun what we in the Crimson Quill have decided to label: "The Xemon Reforms."
REWORKED DISCORD & STRUCTURE
First and foremost, what is considered the 'bloated' and 'disorganized' Discord server of the ComInfo has seen a complete overhaul. According to the estimates of the Crimson Quill staff, while new channels have been added, the Discord has seen a general decrease of around a dozen channels.
Additionally, we have information that the ComInfo intends to completely overhaul its structure especially as it is in the middle of talks with the Commissariat of Culture to fully complete the division of the two Commissariats - some insiders say that the Art, Lore, and Wiki departments of the ComInfo will be completely abolished and once these reforms are done; the ComInfo will only oversee Zilatra's newspapers, radio, social media, and general video entertainment.
However, it will be time until all the reforms are truly seen, as they have just begun, and fully implementing them will be a complicated process that will not only require a simple rework within the ComInfo itself but also further talks with the rest of the Executive Committee.
Thus, this is a developing story which will be reported on further in the future.
VOICE OF THE REPUBLIC - KASANE TETO
Assistant Commissar Valerie A. Venkesel-Ronango'O, who succeeded her father, David Venkesel-Ronango'O, in the position, was reported to have stubbornly insisted that the Commissariat of Information needed a mascot and that there was only one person who would fit the role: Kasane Teto.
Born out of the free and community-driven UTAU software, making her a grassroots, open-source, and communal Vocaloid. Her UTAU community is known for being decentralized, collaborative, and non-commercial (at least less than her counterparts, such as Hatsune Miku). According to Valerie:
"Teto embodies a non-hierarchical, participatory form of art and identity creation - which in my opinion perfectly aligns with the ideals of the Xeroist cultural and artistic model."
In addition, Teto has been lauded by the Crimson Quill staff for her 'rawer' and 'more human' traits, with her original voice being made up of samples from a real human. At first, she was known as a 'lesser Miku', but through persistence, she overcame a system that overlooked her, built her following, and became an icon in her own right; similar to how our own Xeroist Republic rose from oppression and inequality. She is also more quirky and individualistic than her counterparts. And so, in the eyes of many, Teto symbolizes the authenticity of the common citizen.
Thus, Teto represents the people-powered creativity that the ComInfo wants to promote alongside the Comissariat of Culture.
In a ceremony held in the ComInfo Headquarters, Commissar Xemon Ronango'O proclaimed Teto as the first 'Voice of the Republic' (officially: "Voice of the Republic - Eternal Herald of the People's Spirit"). There, she pledged allegiance to the constitution of the Xeroist Republic of Zilatra and sang the national anthem.
In this position, Teto will from now on be the official mascot of the Crimson Quill and the Commissariat of Information as a whole. GLORY TO OUR NEW VOICE OF THE REPUBLIC!!!
