Homeland

These pieces were written by citizens in response to the recent threats to the sovereignty and safety of Zilatra and Sentara by the enemy. We at the Crimson Quill wish to remind everyone of what we fight for, what we stand for, and why we are willing to lay our lives in the name of our republic.

Long Live Zilatra!

Homeland

We do not adorn it with sacred signs,
We do not sign its praises in reverent verses,
It doesn't haunt our restless nights,
or promises us a better tomorrow.

We don't carve her into our hearts,
A coin to trade, a prize to exchange,
Even in its silence, its illness, its absence,
It barely lingers in our thoughts.

Yes, to us it is the dirt beneath our soles,
Yes, it is the sand that grinds on our teeth,
And still we tread, we crush, we mold,
This earth is untouched by softer hands.
