Mystery Epidemic in Dalar Brings Chaos

After eleven deaths were reported in Lasaji this last week, local authorities have announced quarantine efforts to stop a possible epidemic in the pest-filled city. This however has brought mass fear and hysteria as legends of a beast called the Husyani have swept the Dalaraya countryside. Citizens living in the rural expanses between Ebrim Hasz and Lasaji reported that a man by the name of Nadusz si Baqa had passed, and he has posthumously been blamed for the plague. His grieving family reported that in the middle of the night, his corpse – seemingly alive – had returned to the land, where his widow claims he killed and cannibalised his daughter Yedulali. Authorities have been hesitant to give credence to these reports, and have stated the both Nadusz and Yedulali were simply victims of the epidemic; as the Coroner of Lasaji has confirmed.
The transitional Baszku myth, dating centuries into prehistory, tells that those who deal in black magic in life will rise again after death where they spread plague and cannibalise the living, consuming their organs whole with unhinged jaws in an unending divine punishment for their witchery in life.
As many as six reported "sightings" of Nadusz wanting the woods outside Lasaji were given to authorities, including one with supposed photographic evidence by a local resident named Ada who claims she narrowly escaped with her life after watching the Husyani feed upon a yet unidentified corpse. Whether or not the photograph, shown here, is legitimate is unconfirmed by some allege it is a hoax.
