Second Iuminov Cabinet Passes Confirmation

No surprises as all seven commissar nominees smoothly pass confirmation, finalising the makeup of the second Iuminov administration.

GASZALASI - All seven of newly re-elected General Secretary Lenja Iuminov's commissar appointments have comfortably passed confirmation votes, finalising their positions. With only two new faces, the new cabinet is expected to largely maintain the status quo, after the Iuminovs defeated a strong challenge from Niva Krokov Vukita in a laid-back campaign.

Experienced Industrial Commissar Sphinx Sphonx retained his position with an 88% approval vote, after he was selected ahead of Transarian mayor Aylin Öztürk. The relative newcomer Samintra Bahri replaced the retiring Jelezko si Dalqudak as Construction Commissar, receiving 89% approval after applying unopposed. Eksar Prym and Mimi Bahri were both re-appointed without much trouble, achieving 87% and 89% approval for the positions of Information and Military Commissar respectively. Foreign Commissar Note Kiriznia saw the most challenges to his position, including from his predecessor Toku'aui Ronango'O and Magerius Ukumari II. Iuminov stuck with him though, and his confirmation went smoothly with 77% approving the pick. Finally, long-time ZSD Senior Officer Zaaki Iletriosa replaced Samira Iuminov as Internal Commissar with 88% approval.

As usual, the commissar confirmation process were not a controversial affair, with no public opposition against any of the appointees to speak of. Likewise, there were no surprises among the Iuminovs' cabinet picks: both new commissars have been heavily involved in their respective fields in recent times. The new government will arrive to a stable, well-managed nation, though they will have their hands full tackling the recent declines in national activity.
