The Partisan Chair's Curse
HAFUMEL — As the staff of the Crimson Quill has been preparing to hold its next Quillometer shortly after the current census ends, our teams have been working with the scholars from the Hafumel-based Diogo Ronagao'O Political Organisation, a Xeroist think tank, and political scientists from the University of Zilatra to analyse what people should most be interested about in this next Quillometer. And what we found was: the Partisan Chair's curse: Since we began the Quillometer almost 50 years ago, our experts have noticed a worrying trend for the Partisan Chairs: decreasing approval ratings. Out of four Partisan Chairs who served before Issue 3 of the Quillometer, two had their approval ratings gauged by our staff, and each time the rating only went down.
It began with Comrade Pieter Venkesel Jr in Issue 1 of the Quillometer, where he won the lowest net approval rating out of Zilatra's leadership with +44.2%, In the 2nd issue, his rating tanked down to +30.6%. And although his successor Comrade Ahudenya si Dal would've definitely done well, the Quillometer sadly did not operate during her tenure and only returned for the Chairmanship of Comrade Vlädihrb Skamovic, whose rating in the 3rd Quillometer beat Venkesel's record by 0.2%, with a net approval ration of +30.4%, the lowest ever recorded by the Quillometer. And while the rating of the General Secretary, Deputy Secretary, and Premier seem to fluctuate each Quillometer: the consistency of the decline of the Partisan Chair's approval has forced experts to warn the newcomer, Wanja Invanovič.
So, when the next Quillometer is released to the public, the people should ask: will Comrade Partisan Chair Wanja break the Partisan Chair's curse? ◾︎
