The inaugural speech of Premier Valerie Ronango'O

After the most successful Kelitá term in half a century, which saw several important reforms mainly to the Criminal and Procedural Codes through the Big Beautiful Bill and the Procedural Code Reform Bill, the Thirteenth Kelitá has been elected with a mandate to continue this progress - though in an equally non-competitive election as the previous one.

Like the last election, this one was marked by a notable presence of 'Old Guard' candidates. However, there was a decrease in executive-affiliated and long-time incumbent candidates this time around, with several new candidates entering the field, including: Düskr Nieves, Kanari si Panolun (who left retirement for this Kelitá), Ren Serebra II, and Stepan Venkesel.

Ren Serebra II is a member of the long-standing Serebra Family, which traces its roots back to the legendary 5th General Secretary of the United Socialist States of Eldham, Chelovek Serebra-Reach II, and his descendants (also GenSecs), Aleksander Serebra, Chelovek Serebra III, Ren Serebra I, and Solastran Serebra. Her campaign centered around a promise to establish a Zilatran racing league, promote game nights and cultural events, establish more official Zilatran holidays (mainly Duckmas), and 'other things.'

Note: The Crimson Quill's reporters have found that Ren Serebra II has violated electoral campaign regulations, having made 4 election posts while the legal maximum is 1.

Importantly, in this election cycle, Representative Makka Pakka won re-election to their 8th term in the Kelitá, cementing them as the longest-serving representative in Kelitá history. The previous record holder was former Premier Leon Kerexon, who served a total of 6 terms in the Kelitá. This time around, their campaign embraced the 'Alternative for Zilatra (AfZ)' brand as it focused on their promises to: 'Make Zilatra Great Again', make Ivan Iuminov the Eternal General Secretary, allow Hanutatistan to annex Hafumel, introduce National Bolshevism, 'Eat all of the [Hrabians] grain with a comicly large [spoon]', de-criminalize incest, destroy Gaszalasi, declare Lasaji a 'Beta City', bomb Yaczaya, allow all citizens to form a militia, re-establish the 'Daily Dose of Makka Pakka' channel, and establish a mandatory 'UwU' quota on citizens.

Note: strangely enough, Makka Pakka was otherwise found to have been very compliant with electoral campaign regulations.

Having previously run in the by-election for Seat IV of the 12th Kelitá, candidate Ösvald Drazhan was able to exceed all expectations this election as they were elected to Seat V of this new Kelitá. Their campaign was noted by some of our staff to have been the most prominent case of 'Eco-Xeroism' in decades as it called for the protection of sensitive environmental areas in Zilatra, the creation of a National Parks System, and efficient (+sustainable) architecture in towns. They were noted for their ability to discuss their ideas with voters and to maturely take input from others, which may have contributed to their rapid rise in popularity.

The last newcomer who for sure managed to make a name for themself was Stepan Venkesel, a distant cousin to representative Valerie Ronango'O and a direct descendant of USSE politician Vyacheslav von Kessel; his campaign centered around his promise to 'constantly seek out the ideas of those around me whenever we are confronted with an issue.' and to '[Develop] a Navy is a fun lore and community project that I will work on regardless of the outcome of this election. Our culture and language are a gift - let them be preserved and strengthened.'

Before the election, Stepan released a rather controversial open letter in the Young Xeroist League titled 'On the Jato Dáuku and the Economic Modernization Plan' which saw Stepan propose the idea of the 'Jato Dáuku', a Grand Bazaar that would include: free farms, cheap state-run shops, be open to all players, and run by the Commissariat of Industry - together with his idea for the 'Economic Modernization Plan' which would've been a broader initiative to strengthen Zilatra's economy with the usage of public works projects, for example. While he has since disassociated himself from the open letter, having stated that he's 'learned' from the input and criticism given to him by citizens, it seems as though the backlash hurt his electoral prospects. In the end, he became the sole loser of the election.

The only other notable campaign this time around was that of Representative Valerie Ronango'O. Valerie's campaign this time around set a record for usage of media and propaganda as she released a 3-minute-long election advertisement, made a few propaganda pieces, and held speeches to the public to find as many ways as possible to exploit the digital electoral landscape of Stoneworks. In her campaign, Valerie also made it immediately clear that she'll be running for the Premiership again (having lost the previous Premier election).

The incumbents: Khorvic Drazhan, Faelyn Lancaster, and Note Kiriznia all made gains this election, even as they very literally did zero campaigning, showing an electoral preference for experienced candidates (possibly?).

The 11th Premier & 9th Vice Premier

This Kelitá made history by holding the 3rd Premier election with only a single ticket running (the previous two being the Premier elections of the 8th and 3rd Kelitás) and the 5th won with 100% of the vote (during the 4th Kelitá, Szal si Ahuden ran opposed - but won 100% of the vote, same with the 2nd Kelitá when Talun si Batiku was elected); Representatives Valerie Ronango'O and Arya Zopasku (formerly a Premier) chose to run together in what has been called the 'Matriarchal Ticket.'

The Ronango'O-Zopasku ticket campaigned on working with the High Judge to oversee Judicial Reforms, expand the role of worldbuilding in the Kelitá and Zilatra as a whole, highlight young talent in Zilatra, and to cooperate with the government while keeping it in check.

With Valerie Ronango'O becoming the 11th Premier, this makes her the 3rd Ronango'O to become Premier. Her grandparent Toku'aui Ronango'O was the 5th Premier, while her great-grandfather Diogo Ronango'O was the 3rd Premier - her father, David Venkesel-Ronango'O, was a representative in the 7th Kelitá for a short period of time.

And with Arya Zopasku becoming the 9th Vice Premier, this makes her the 2nd Premier in history to have served in the position (Vice Premier) after completing their term (as Premier).
